Joining the Liberal Democrats

Should you join?

Well, we think you should, but you would expect us to say that, wouldn't you? "Why should I join?" is perhaps the question you should ask yourself.

  • If you are fed up with the policies of the other two parties, one trying hard to be all things to all people and the other increasingly in the grip of the extreme right
  • If you feel that society should treat its members justly, with fairness of access to structures and services, encourage them to take part in the way that society is run - in short, as adult citizens
  • If you feel that political parties that rely for their income on big business or Trades Unions are likely to be biased rather than able to take a balanced view

Then you will feel at home with the Liberal Democrats.

Remember - we have no income for our political campaigning apart from that which comes from membership subscriptions and donations from people like you and from our local fundraising events.

How much is it to join?

It can cost you as little as £6 per year to be a member, although the 'recommended' subscription is £30/year.

How to join

You can send a cheque, payable to 'South Norfolk Liberal Democrats', to the Local Party's Membership Officer:

Mrs Jenny Pitchford, 11 Southwood Drive, Caistor St Edmund, Norwich, NR14 8RA
Phone: 01508 494509

If you would like to talk to someone from your local branch before committing yourself, either let Jenny Pitchford know or use the links from our 'contacts' page to find out which of the branches is responsible for your local area.
