Chairman of Health Improvement Forum. Member of Economic Policy Development Panel (Chairman 2003-05) and Care, Fairness & Housing Policy Development Panel.

Represents Council on Norfolk County Council Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee (Vice-Chairman) and the Upper Waveney Valley Partnership Management Committee

First elected to SNC in 2003.

County Councillor for East Depwade Division 1993–97.

Member of Redenhall-with-Harleston Town Council since 1997 (Chairman 2003-05). Currently Council Vice-Chairman and Chairman of Recreation and Environment Sub-Committees and member of Finance and Staffing Sub-Committee.

First individual member of Harleston Development Partnership (Chairman 2002--03). Currently Board member and sits on Tourism Committee.

During 1980s formed action group to return King George's Memorial Hall to public usage. Was Chairman/Secretary/Treasurer of Management Committee. Allocated outbuilding to be present home of Harleston Museum. Main hall now leased to Scouts.

At various times during 1980s was Chairman of Management Committee of Harleston Youth & Community Centre (Jays Green), Chairman of NCC Youth & Community Service Southern Area Advisory Committee and member of the County Advisory Committee

Born in Surrey. Married for past forty years to Stella. Moved to Harleston in 1973 with our two children. Entire career with National Coal Board - mainly marketing activities in London, then Bedfordshire, then East Anglia. Current hobbies - sitting on committees and, increasingly rarely, playing atrocious golf at Halesworth Golf Club.
