Serves as one of the Parish Council representatives on Hethersett Village Hall Management Committee.
Is one of the Parish Council representative on the South Norfolk Environmental Liason Group.

Fred has worked for 30 years as a technical author in electronics, defence and power generation industries. This followed fourteen years service in the Royal Air Force, which he joined as a Boy Entrant, aged 15.
